The government of Sudan has launched tender seeking consultants to help within the implementation of an irrigation project in the states of North Kordofan and West Kordofan.
The project entails set up of 1,one hundred seventy solar irrigation pumps within the nation. Successful consultants will provide engineering and supervision services, design of photo voltaic water pumping methods, in accordance with the requirements of every farm.
The firms may also provide help to the irrigation challenge implementation unit, supervision and contract administration of works related to the installation and commissioning of the photo voltaic pumps. The companies will also assist the challenge implementation unit through technical and financial supervision to make sure that all works are carried out according to the contract specifications. The consultants will also participate in the development actions and within the implementation of the project’s environmental and social administration plan.

Erratic rainfall
The photo voltaic pumps shall be installed in North Kordofan and West Kordofan states where erratic rainfall is generally experienced because of the arid climate and local weather change, with a unfavorable impact on agricultural yields, based on the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
