The National Research Office (NRO), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in Thailand, introduced it supports the transfer of durian manufacturing technology and ripening inhibition technology.
This help is especially for the local “Lap Lae Durian,” which goals to assist export Thai durians to the international market. The move was initiated by Wiparat Dee-Ohng, Director of the NRO, instructing the NRO’s Information and PR staff to guide a gaggle of journalists to visit a research challenge area associated to “Knowledge Management and Transferring Durian Production Technology for Commercial Use in Lower Northern areas.”
As part of the challenge, a staff of researchers from Naresuan University, led by Associate Professor DR Peerasak Chaiyprasat, is working to increase the potential and standard of local durian varieties in quality inspection. This will set up them as ready for future export, offering knowledge that farmers can adapt to their practices to provide quality products. The analysis was carried out on the Lap Lae Durian Orchard in Lap Lae district, Uttaradit province.
One essential side is the delay in the ripening of the trimmed durian for consumption. The bundle must be specifically designed to maintain it fresh for a long time, secure for customers, free from contamination or poisonous residues, and meet worldwide standards, reported KhaoSod.
The venture has demonstrated success by extending the shelf lifetime of ready durian products to twenty-eight days at a temperature of 5 levels Celsius. This extended shelf-life provides the potential for exporting trimmed durian merchandise, thereby growing income for farmers, revitalising the financial system, and enhancing the competitiveness of exporters total.
During Ready to, Supap Panlap, or Jib, proprietor of the Lin Laplae Durian Orchard, played host together with the researchers led by Associate Professor Dr Peerasak. The orchard grows several varieties of durian, particularly Lin Laplae, Lhong Laplae, and Mhorn Thong, which originate from Jib’s grandfather, Lin Poomlad, referred to as the origin of the famous “Lin Laplae Durian” of Laplae Town.
The famed Lin Laplae Durian Orchard also advantages from the knowledge and manufacturing and ripening inhibition applied sciences for durians from this research challenge..
